Gradually add flour half to one cup at a time until well mixed.
Divide dough into sections and roll each section between two sheets of waxed paper-roll about 1/4 inch thick.
Place rolled dough on wax paper on cookie sheets and chill for 30 minutes.
Take one rolled dough out of refrigerator at a time and cut into shapes. Place shapes onto a sheet of parchment paper and freeze for 10 minutes.
Bake shapes on parchment paper on baking sheets at 375 degrees for 7 minutes. Cool on baking sheet for 10 minutes then move cookies to cooling racks and chill for about an hour before decorating.
Decorating the Cut-out Cookies
I find the quickest and easiest way to decorate these summer cutout cookies is using candy melt wafers. Just micrawave the candy melts in a bowl, spoon into a ziplock bag, cut one corner a tiny bit at an angle and decorate the cutout cookies.
